    McGuffey Lane

Proceeds benefit Dayton VA Fisher House Project

Back by popular demand! McGuffey Lane returns to Fraze Pavilion. Founded in 1972, this band has a legacy that started at Zachariah’s Red Eye Saloon where they performed as a house band for many years. The group is known for several successful albums including McGuffey Lane, Aqua Dreams, Let the Hard Times Roll and Day by Day.

In 2002 they released an all acoustic CD Wood which included popular concerts songs from the late 1970’s but never previously released. In 2010 McGuffey Lane released their 10th and latest CD 10 on Lick Records which was co-founded by John Schwab. In 2011 “Bartender” from 10 was released as a single. It reached #50 on the national country charts (Music Row Magazine). McGuffey Lane’s history mirrors one of the songs from their 2002 Wood album. “I’ve been up and down and all around my head in the clouds and my feet on the ground. Don’t you worry baby don’t you worry about me. Cause I’ve survived everything that comes and goes. I still know which way that old north wind blows. After all these years I’m “Runnin’ Wild and Free.”

Don’t miss this Ohio favorite when they roll into the Fraze Pavilion for a Friday night party!

USVMCOH Dayton VA Fisher House Project:
The U.S. VETERANS MOTORCYCLE CLUB (USVMC) is a Veterans Motorcycle Club and is comprised of members from all branches of Service. It was born of the principals : 1) To show respect for all Veterans who served honorably, 2) To promote the true meaning of Brotherhood to all members, 3) Continue to support our Active Duty Military. This Dayton Ohio Motorcycle Club is dedicated to the remembrance of the sacrifices by those who gave the Ultimate and for those who still struggle today. They are the founding organization of VetFest Ohio. This year, the USVMC have partnered with McGuffey Lane and the Fisher House Foundation for a concert at Fraze Pavilion to make an incredible difference to our service community.

The Fisher House Foundation is known worldwide for building a network of compassionate care facilities where active duty and retired military and veterans can stay at no cost while receiving outpatient treatment. Their families can also stay at no cost while a loved one is undergoing medical care. These homes are located at major military and VA medical centers, in close proximity to the hospital they serve. Each house is configured with up to 21 suites, each with a private bathroom, a shared common kitchen, laundry facilities, dining room, and an inviting living room with a library and toys for children.

Fisher Houses typically cost $4-6 million to build, and today, there are 65 located in the United States and Germany, with several more under construction. Since inception, the program has served more than 250,000 families, with a savings in out-of-pocket transportation and lodging expenses of over $282 million. In 2014 alone, 25,000 families were served, with $47 million saved. Dayton VA submitted an application to become the site of a new Fisher House in 2015 and was approved by the Secretary of the VA and the Fisher House Foundation.
